Gift Ideas: Birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, or any
special day are ideal occasions for a gift of a pet portrait for someone
special. Dogs, cats, horses or any other favorite pet can be immortalized
in a beautiful watercolor painting. From your photographs, Augusto will
capture your pet's facial, or full body characteristics and depict it in a
painting that will be joyful to give and to receive....one that will be
treasured for generations.
Guidelines: Your portrait starts with photos that you mail with your
payment to Augusto Argandoña (pricing info follows). Understanding basic
photography guidelines, will insure that Augusto will clearly depict the beauty
and characteristics of the pet you love that is most
special to you. Here are some guidelines for you to follow:
Photography: all commissioned art is painted
from photographs supplied by the client. If you do not have the photographs, it
is recommended that a 35mm camera be used and the photos be taken outdoors,
preferably on a sunny day, although clear indoor photographs may be considered.
The photos should be taken approximately 3 to 5 feet from the subject so that
the entire body fills the view-finder. Outdoor photography should be done
with the light coming at a slight angle. Since the portrait will show the
character of the animal, the photos should not be posed… somewhat candid shots
are better. A variety of photos showing the animal standing, sitting, looking
up, down, etc. would be ideal reference material.
Front, side and facial views should be considered.
Time: Once the photos are received, the portrait can
be completed in as little as two weeks, however 4 to 5 weeks is preferred.
Price: The
price is determined by the size of the
painting and the type of frame. Unless
requested by the client, all paintings are shiped with matting only. Shipping,
handling and insurance are not included in the prices below.
For each order a US$50 deposit is required.
