Bio

Augusto Argandoņa is a well known watercolor artist who has gained recognition for his crisp and realistic depictions of house portraits and architectural themes. He is known for his expertise in the medium and artistic versatility. This is clearly seen in his accurate portraits of people and animals. His paintings are increasingly in demand and are part of private and corporate collections throughout the North America and Europe.

Augusto has developed a distinctive personal painting style which has a wide appeal and continues to provide him with commissions and opportunities to use his talent. His artistic versatility and expertise in the challenging medium of watercolors coupled with his creative approach in exhibiting and marketing his art has won him a feature article in the June 1992 issue of North Light magazine, an art publication with national circulation. In addition to marketing his art and talent at outdoor shows and other venues throughout Florida he has a new and successful wholesale business that includes, prints, cards and related art products. He also gives watercolor lessons and work-shops throughout the year.

With a degree in Industrial Design from California State University, Augusto has had a varied creative career in product, graphic and exhibit design, and holds numerous U.S. and international patents. While practicing his profession, he started painting watercolors as a hobby. As his interest and skill expanded, he began doing painting for relatives and showing his art locally. The positive response his work received fueled his enthusiasm and in 1990 he began a new career painting full time primarily in watercolors.

Augusto’s paintings have won numerous awards and have been exhibited at galleries in Western New York, San Francisco and Carmel California and in Nagshead, North Carolina. Currently his art is featured in galleries and fine gift stores throughout Florida and the East Coast.
